What is ACES’ Basic Anesthesia Education for Nurses?
ACES’ Basic Anesthesia Education for Nurses is a program that provide the students clinical and didactic curriculum which will enable them to meet the requirements as nurse practitioner in anesthesiology. The Nurse practitioner in Anesthesiology stays with the patient during the entire procedure, constantly monitoring every important body function to ensure maximum safety and comfort. At the end of the program, you will be able to:
Perform physical assessment
Participate in preoperative teaching
Prepare and discuss with the attending Anesthesiologist the anesthetic management as planned.
Assist the Anesthesiologist in administering anesthesia
Maintain anesthesia intraoperatively
Oversee recovery from anesthesia
Follow the patient’s postoperative course from PACU to ward.
How long is the program and what is the schedule?
The Basic Anesthesia Education for Nurses is for 6 months, you will have your classes and clinical exposure form Monday to Friday at 8:00am-5:00pm. There are times that it is adjusted based on the need of the cases you will assist.
What are the requirements for enrollment?
- A baccalaureate degree in Nursing (TOR, Diploma, Board Certificate)
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the Philippines.
- Priority is given to applicants with clinical experience in an intensive care, critical care, or coronary care unit.

When is the enrollment for this program?
Enrollment is at every start of the module since the program is modular.
How much is the training cost?
The training fee is Php 20,000.00 for 6 months inclusive of modules. You can pay it in cash basis or installment basis with a DP of Php 5,000.00 plus an affiliation fee which is 10% of the total amount of the tuition fee.
Where is ACES located? Does it have any branches?
ACES has no branch yet, it is only located at Km18 Diversion Road, Ilayang Dupay, Lucena City.
Where do you house the trainees from other parts of the country?
There are a lot of apartments and boarding/lodging houses within the vicinity of training. It will not be a problem for we are assisting trainees outside Lucena City to be housed safely and decently.
Where can I work after the training?
After the training you can work on the local hospitals accepting Nurse Anesthetist, like in QMC, Lucena City. Three (3) from our pioneers were absorbed and given a job order as nurse anesthetist in QMC-Anesthesia Department. The program is also recognized in Middle East, but you have to enroll first on the Advance Nurse Anesthesia Program.
Can you accept an application on line?
Application can be accepted online… some of the exams can be given also online. However, you have to be here in Lucena for the completion of the cases (150 spinal anesthesias, 150 general anesthesias), after which you will be at De los Santos STI for one month, Monday to Friday. Some of the trainees are usually here for 2 days every 2 weeks.
We have 3 trainees, one from Bacolod, one from Baguio City and one from Nueva Ecija. Should you decide to enroll in our program, you can come visit us anytime.
Will you consider the cases handled during employment?
It is subject for verification, we will request for a job description and usual operations done.
Advance Program in Nurse Anesthesia is a program given to those nurses who after completing the Basic Anesthesia Program for Nurses, is further trained in the supervised administration of anesthetics.
